Chief's Message

The men and women of the North Berwick Police Department join me in welcoming you to our website and to the dynamic community we serve. North Berwick is located in Southern York County and covers approximately 40 square miles with an estimated population of over 5000.

We are a full service agency seeking to ensure the safety and well-being of residents, business people, and visitors. There are several factors that make policing the Town of North Berwick unique. North Berwick is home to Noble High School (SAD 60), a school serving over 1200 students from the towns of North Berwick, Berwick, and Lebanon. We have a strong industrial base, which includes Pratt & Whitney and Hussey Seating, and many small retail and commercial businesses, which serve the needs of residents of North Berwick and surrounding communities. We are bisected by two major Maine roads, Route 4 running north to south and Route 9 running east to west. Summer time brings us a substantial increase in traffic as many tourists travel through North Berwick to their final destinations.

We invite you to explore our website. More importantly we invite you to visit our community. We look forward to welcoming you and your families to North Berwick. Please help us keep North Berwick safe by obeying all local and state laws, reporting suspicious activity, and treating others the way you wish to be treated.
