About the Program
 

The General Assistance Program operates to assist eligible North Berwick residents, for a limited period of time, who are unable to provide basic necessities essential to maintain themselves or their families.

The General Assistance program is intended to assist people who are in need and have nowhere else to turn. It provides assistance for basic necessities such as rent, food, personal and household supplies, medication, heating fuel, utilities and other essential services. All assistance granted is in voucher form and no cash assistance is granted.

Application Process: Interviews on applications are conducted on Tuesday from 9 am - 11 am, please contact Rebecca to schedule an interview.  Applications may be picked up on Monday & Wednesday 8am to 5:30pm and Tuesday and Thursday 8am to 5pm.

After Hour Emergency Contact - In an emergency,  applicants may contact the North Berwick Police Department at 207-676-2751.
